Fraud & Abuse Policy

GlobalSMS maintains a zero-tolerance approach to fraud. This page explains what we monitor, what triggers enforcement, and how decisions are reviewed.

Zero-tolerance activities

The following activities result in immediate restriction and possible permanent closure, with funds handling subject to our refund rules and applicable law:

  • Fake, stolen, or unauthorized payment methods
  • Refund farming — repeatedly renting and releasing numbers to cycle wallet funds
  • Creating multiple accounts to bypass limits or abuse promotions and referrals
  • Using rented numbers for fraud, spam, phishing, or deceptive practices
  • Reselling access or sharing accounts without authorization
  • Attacking, probing, or abusing the GlobalSMS API or infrastructure

What we monitor

Automated systems continuously review activity for risk indicators. Monitoring produces flags for human staff review — flags are risk indicators, not accusations:

  • Rental velocity — unusually high numbers of rentals in a short period
  • Payment patterns — repeated failed payments or bursts of top-up attempts
  • Refund patterns — repeated rentals that end without any SMS delivery
  • API usage — repeated invalid-key or rate-limited requests
  • Account signals — multiple accounts created from the same source

Enforcement

High-severity indicators automatically pause rentals on the affected account while our team reviews. Staff may then clear the flag, keep the restriction, or suspend the account. New accounts have starter limits on rentals and top-ups that lift automatically after a clean history period. Every automated and manual action is recorded in an immutable audit log.

Refunds and wallet safety

If a rented number receives no SMS, the rental price is automatically refunded to your wallet in full. Once a message is delivered, the rental is considered fulfilled and is not refundable. Wallet balances can only change through verified payment confirmations or audited staff actions.

Report abuse or appeal

If you believe your account was restricted in error, or you want to report abuse of the platform, contact us through the Support page. Every appeal is reviewed by a human — automated decisions are never final.
